I have been an IT professional for more than 30 years. I get a kick out of coding up a program to solve particularly nasty problems. My high school purchased its first computer (a TRS-80) in 1982 and I spent my free period writing programs in BASIC. The school added additional computers the following year and offered a programming class to upperclassmen. Needless to say, I knew what I would study in college. And the rest, as they say, is history. I have been writing or integrating software systems ever since I landed my first part-time gig writing software applications for the IU business school in 1986.
